A Sunday in Paris

Winter has settled in all around us. The chill in the air, the hours of darkness and spectacularly atmospheric skies that are unique to December. I have put up our Christmas tree, eaten some advent chocolates and rather smugly, finished all my shopping for gifts but, not so smugly, forgot about Christmas cards! On a side note, and I do mean a side note as I want to give it no more room than that, the current events in my city are making it hard to feel festive. I do feel hopeful though when I see the many that refuse to let it dictate how we live and we will keep going on in our merry Christmasy way!

I would love to share some final photos of Paris before these pictures get buried. A Sunday in the Tuileries Gardens, after our visit to the Louvre and before our flight home, we managed to soak up some final warm rays of sunshine this year and feast on Laduree macaroons. I also wanted to show you the Orla Kiely dress I have worn so much since I got it a few months ago. Cheap, cheerful and comfortable to wear - everything I love about all my Uniqlo purchases. I have always loved Orla Kiely's retro inspired prints and I like that this one isn't as recognisable as some of the others either.

The rose water and salted caramel flavours were a highlight.  How perfectly delicate and delicious do macaroons look?  I've kept my lilac Laduree box for storage on my dressing table, it was too pretty to throw away...

I miss the colours of Autumn but am looking forward to Christmas.  After a busy week I am lounging around today and watching Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers movies on the tv...how I love Sundays!  Wishing you all a peaceful and happy festive period.

  2. I hesitated on getting the dress and when i went back for one online they were all sold out...I really need to learn the art of impulse purchases more - though i often end up regretting them!

  5. I'd imagine you hear this often, but you have an absolutely lovely smile, dear gal. What a charming series of photos - sunny days already seem like a distant memory now that winter proper has set in here in my corner of Canada.
