The longer I didn't write on here, the harder it became to get started again. I read an article over the weekend encouraging people to photograph something in nature to reflect on and celebrate the beauty of our planet on Earth Day. I had wanted to capture some of the beautiful cherry blossom trees that have been raining their petals on me all week and decided it would be a good reintroduction to the blog as well so - happy earth day!
I love how these pictures came out. They look amazing with some edit work but i've decided to just share them in their natural glory. It was such a grey day but I liked the storminess of the sky in this first picture. Then, the sun came out!
I always have a faint memory of a school project where I picked a poem about the rosy 'avalanche' of blossom petals falling on the soft grey of pavement. It was in a children's poetry book that I have never been able to find again. I often thought it was Christina Rossetti but it was probably more contemporary. I've just never been able to remember or read it again...the idea of seeing the beauty of the grey of the pavement as well as the tissue soft blush petals appealed to me.
Perhaps a blogger cliché, but I will never get sick of cherry blossom time! I also discovered these beauties in our front garden while I was out getting snap happy.
I went to Amsterdam the other week for a few days and will post about it during the week. For now, I will leave you with this photo of me relaxing in a café there and vaguely linked to this post because of the cute window sticker (no, they aren't real flowers!)
Belated Easter well wishes from me, in the form of a Spring embrace
