I Love Paris In The Fall...

I have returned from the beautiful streets of Paris. I feel so lucky to have had such lovely holidays this year! I have never seen Paris in Autumn and it was just wonderful. I ate my fair share of patisserie after salivating over Brendan's creations on the Great British Bake Off, I strolled along the Seine, I did some vintage shopping in Montmartre and generally enjoyed being alive. We met up with some friends to people watch in the cafés and it was really fun knowing people in other cities!

I have been dying to show this 70s dress since I bought it at the start of Summer in a vintage shop.  I have been seeking tan boots to wear with it for a while. I hadn't owned tan boots ever or a boot that wasn't ankle height in years but I fell in love with this slouchy and very comfortable style.  I wore them to death in Paris and think they'll be on my feet a lot over the next few months.  Infact, this particular outfit is just so easy to wear.  I love the colours and print of the dress so much I just feel like living in it!

This first morning we revisited Notre Dame and got our bearings in the lovely and eclectic Marais where out hotel was, before going to the Eiffel Tower for lunch.  There just seems to be something about the light in Paris that really shows in these photographs.  It has a quality that you can recognise when you compare with your Paris photographs from previous visits.  I had never been to Paris at this time of year and despite some rain, the colours of the trees were gorgeous and the whole mood was lovely.
Onwards and upwards!  We ate lunch in the Jules Verne restaurant on the second floor of the Eiffel Tower.  I could go on and on about it but instead of boring you all, I will simply say it was an experience.  A 5 year promise come good for me, it did not disappoint.  We felt like we were in a Bond movie!

The Trees Are In Their Autumn Beauty

Seasons of mist and mellow fruitfulness...
We are truly in the heart of Autumn now and despite the rain, for every grey day this month we have been treated to a day of crisp October air, crunchy leaves and buttery yellow sunshine.

Not the new lemon of Spring nor the tropical yellows of Summer, this bright and rich ochre shade of Autumn has made my heart sing the past few weeks.  I normally focus on seasonal rusts and berries but the yellow has kept cropping up in some of my favourite things last week.

I am in love with my Orla Kiely for Uniqlo scarf.  Great size, soft material and £10.  I have spoken of my love for Uniqlo collaborations before on this blog and the quality and price still do not disappoint.  The leaves just felt so seasonal and the yellow ones inject such a nice vibrancy to an otherwise muted colour palette.

Similarly, this patent belt brightens up the Primark dress it came with and keeps me from getting sucked into my head to toe black that I usually head for come colder days.  I have worn this dress so much with bright tights since I got it a month ago.

A hazy 6pm sky with the rooftops of my area.

No words describe my excitement for Dunnes' collaboration with Carolyn Donnelly.  A simple but good Irish chain shop for anyone outside Ireland, Carolyn Donnelly Eclectic's range is simply beautiful!  Formely from designer brand 'Quinn and Donnelly', this cup and saucer is only a small glimpse into the money I burned in Dunnes on Sunday.  I can't wait to see the next phase of the collection.  The primrose yellow and gilt trim just fitted my mood and looked quaintly old fashioned.

Finally, a perfect gift of yellow roses to celebrate the end of a job.  They have bloomed for over a week now and perhaps started my penchant for all things sunshine last week.

I had a lovely few days break from finishing work.  I have been doing some studying and looking for more work but I have also spent time with a friend and her lovely baby, walked thorugh leaves and had lots of homemade soups and stews!  I had a great lunch of fresh ice tea and bacon, pear and rocket sandwich in The Pepperpot in the Powerscourt Centre in Dublin on Sunday after my Dunnes spree.  Best way to round off a weekend!
I only wish I had taken more 'leaves' photos but hopefully I will get some outfit posts done in the Autumn sunshine in the next week or two before grey November arrives!

Ignore the grey and look for the yellow,
